If you have been in the acting game for very long at all you know that there are ebbs and flows. There are some weeks when you will get tons of auditions and others where they may not flow in quite as much. Throughout all of this, the best lesson I find can be taken away is that of persistence. When you are persistent in your career, things happen. It may take a while, it also may not, but when you work your hardest for as long as you can, things are bound to take off for you in some capacity. This includes keeping up with your auditions on backstage, updating your social media, making sure that you are posting to your website regularly.

If it happens that you don’t get any auditions for a while, or you feel that you aren’t getting the auditions you believe you should be/ booking what you think you should be booking, then it is probably time for a change. The change can come in the form of new headshots, and update of your website, or even changing around your resume or demo reel that you send out to people.

When you are in the process of changing something, make sure you are keeping close track of whatever it is you are changing. You want to make sure that you are doing the correct things and if you do something that has a negative effect of your career then you definitely want to know. But if you are having a hard time with your auditions, meaning you aren’t getting enough or you aren’t getting the auditions that you are interested in having, you need to talk to your agents or manager and decide if it is time to change something. Make sure you are always keeping up with your social media accounts and updating them as necessary to let people know that you are still going and as persistent as ever!

Make sure you are consulting your agent or manager before you make any of these changes because just as you are a big part of your career, they are too. They are there to help you get the jobs that you want to be getting and that fist comes with getting the auditions that are right for you! Getting their advice on this will not only help them help you (because they will understand more of what to send you out for) but it will also show them how hardworking you are, and will make them want to work harder to help make your career happen sooner!
