Hello again from us here at My Acting Site! We hope everyone had a great time these past few weeks celebrating the holidays and taking advantage of the temporary holidays induced loss of traffic in Los Angeles. Pilot season is coming up and there is not really much more exciting than pilot season as an actor! It’s usually an audition, callback, and job booking filled time and it is always busy. In case you feel flustered or ill prepared we have compiled some of the best things you can do in preparation for this pilot season 2017!

1.             Visit your representatives. This may seem cheesy but the more they see you, the more they think of you and the more they will want to send you out on anything and everything you are right for. Bring them a cute little holiday gift. Doesn’t have to be anything big but it does need to show up and remind them of how amazing you are and why they started repping you in the first place.
2.             Change up your headshots. If you have had the same headshots for over a year or so, it is probably time to add something new into the mix. Talk to your agent or manager and see if they agree that new headshots are the way to go. They may just get you in the door for your next big job!
3.             Take an acting class. You want to try to always be practicing your craft and the best way to do that as an actor around pilot season is to be in an acting class where you are constantly working on something. Making yourself busier is one of the best ways to keep yourself on an upward curve. Produce more, get more.
4.             Be physically ready. Making sure you are comfortable in your own skin is so extremely important as an actor. You need to feel confident in order to appear like it in front of a camera. If you don’t feel that way, then now is the perfect time to take action. Buy some flattering clothing, exercise, eat less, eat more, and just make sure you are happy with how you look on a screen because that’s hopefully how you’re going to be seen by millions of people!
5.             Brush up on your talents. This is one of the main times that all of those skills you have on your resume will be out to use. If you have “intermediate roller skater” on your resume, then you’d better know how to do that because the last thing you want to be doing is embarrassing your agent, and especially not yourself. Make sure you are being honest (a little bit of exaggeration never hurt anybody as long as you are actually ABLE to do whatever it is you claim you can).

So get ready for pilot season because this is your year! With a fresh new website you can easily show everyone where your photos, resume, representation, social media pages, and literally anything else are. The best part about all of this is that it is easily accessible AND can be put on your paper resume so that casting directors can see it! Invest in your future and in yourself and make sure you are as prepared as possible for pilot season 2018!
