This year the Emmys were very exciting to watch. There were some huge milestones that were made and it was awesome to be able to see these great changes being done in our industry. I have to be honest, I did predict some of these wins, but unfortunately I have no way to prove this to all of you readers out there. Regardless, this year’s Emmys were great and I can’t wait to get down to the details and discuss the best of the awards! Award season is always the greatest and it is really important that we as actors keep up with the current happenings in our industry so that we can continue all of the conversations going on in our careers! So here we go… the highlights of the Emmy Awards 2016!

-Outstanding Comedy Series: Veep. I was so happy about this one because Veep is one of the best shows on TV right now. Not only is Julia Louis-Dreyfus (who was awarded Outstanding Female Lead in a Comedy, of course) one of the most amazing actresses in the world, but the timing is excellent and the comedy is top notch. I was not surprised that they won.
-Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama: Maggie Smith. She is an amazing actress with a career too long and impressive to mention. She is so impressive, in fact, that she does not even need to show up to the Emmys to be nominated or win. This was made abundantly clear, in a quite hilarious way, by Jimmy Kimmel, the host of the night who was cracking pretty great jokes.
-Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama: Rami Malek. This guy is amazing in Mr. Robot. He plays his character with such a particular sense and perfected demeanor that it was so strange to see him accept the award because, in real life, he is so charming and confident and completely different than his character. He is amazing, simply put.
-Outstanding Writing For A Comedy Series: Alan Yang and Aziz Ansari. This series did so much for the world of acting, writing, and producing. They played on cliché moments in the most perfect way creating new and innovative moments out of a tired tale. They inspired so much and created a way to showcase all of the best people, in the best way possible.

So there you have it folks; some of the best of this year’s Emmys. Make sure you watch these shows if you haven’t yet because they are all very good, very inspiring, and very current, and of course, according to my last blog post, ACTORS WATCH! So make sure you are watching the shows that are winning, and make sure you are talking about it because that is what keeps us all current and up to date on what is going on in our industry.
