Occasionally when you are friends with a bunch of actor people, it can happen that you are the friend who isn’t booking any work. In a circumstance like this, it is sort of human nature to be prone to jealousy. Especially in an industry like this one. Sometimes if I that if I am not booking as much as I think I should be, or when a friend of mine gets a part that I wanted, etc… I find myself prone to jealousy.

What I have found is that the best solution to jealousy is to take a step back and look at everything that you, yourself, have accomplished. Maybe you moved out to Los Angeles six months ago to pursue acting, or maybe you just got signed with a new agent, or maybe you’ve just been very persistent. The most important thing is that you acknowledge everything that you’ve been doing right. They key to acting is making a ton of friends in the industry. When your friends book work, besides being happy for them that they are accomplishing their goals, you should be happy that you now have another bona fide contact in the industry.

When you really think about it there is no true reason to get jealous of people. If you are hard-working enough and have enough talent and skill, you too will have success. It’s all about finding the right part.
