Hope you liked that double entendre there, for all of my fellow theatre geeks! With relation to your actual acting skills, there is probably nothing more important than being earnest. In fact, acting is the art of recreating and assuming a different persona. So, therefore, if you can’t be earnest about it, can you really act about it? Although this is one of the most important things in you acting it is also one of the most important things about being an actor.
If you don’t hit it off with someone, and can’t find anything to like about them and force yourself to get along with them, you have a problem. That’s where being earnest comes in. Find something to be earnest about. Become genuinely interested in something about the agent you can’t talk to, or the casting director you never get along with, and I assure you, you will have an easier time being around them and talking to them for sure. Being personable is what could get you the job!
