The last class was interesting and fun because we went through the show layout a ton of times. I really enjoyed doing this because it was the actual practice of the thing that we were all reaching towards and had been working towards for the last eight weeks. Then, this Sunday was our class show! The class show was exciting to say the least. Of course, I invited a ton of people, as did the people in my class, so we had a great audience to start out with. Our class was split up into two groups, which was a tiny bit upsetting because we had been working with everyone in the class for so long that it was hard to imagine not working with some of them for the show, but alas, we were separated and it was only thirty minutes of my life and it happened so I got over it pretty quickly.
The show was the best part of taking that class because we actually got to fully put our skill to use. Later on in the more advanced classes they actually judge if you go into the next class or not based on your in-class participation as well as your performance and to be humble about it, I feel that if we were being judge on our performances, I would have been chosen to go onto the next course, just saying, I was pretty “on”. The performance was the best part of the entire class, and pretty much the only reason that I would take it again.
Performing is one of the things that I live for and something that I absolutely love doing, when you get to perform and also make people laugh, there’s pretty much nothing better. I am not sure if I am going to be taking more UCB classes, but I do know that I had a ton of fun and enjoyed the performance aspect of it the most.
