In this week’s episode of My Acting Site blogs, I am going to be touching upon a couple of the important parts of educating yourself as an actor! Today’s subject is getting photos taken and what you can do to prepare yourself for the best outcome possible. A big part of the industry is getting photos taken! Whether it is an event, red carpet, or even headshots, you need to be able to feel confident in your ability to get a photo taken of yourself and confident that it will come out looking exactly how you want it to. Not only that, but you need to be able to do this consistently!
The way to become hyper talented at having your photos taken is to practice, it is also good to watch other people have their photo taken! Watching celebrities walk the red carpet can be very educational because they are the real heroes of getting photos taken of them! You are able to learn so much from watching people get photos taken of them because you can see what works and what doesn’t. You can watch them pose for the photo and then go and find the exact photos of them and see what their angles are and how they choose to pose themselves.
When you watch people get their photos taken, you can naturally learn how to position yourself so that you can get the same type of photo taken and have the ideal outcome! This is especially important in situations like headshots, where you want to feel and look as comfortable and natural as possible. You also need to be able to recreate this in event situations where photos are being taken of you! In any case, every time you are getting your photos taken, it is an opportunity for some exposure in your career and because of that, it is important you learn how to feel your best for them.
