Something that is important in the world of creating great art which is so often expected that it is rarely explained is the fact that when you make things, you HAVE to get completed products, otherwise what you worked on is virtually useless. This can be a difficult pill to swallow, but looked at from a totally neutral standpoint, it is completely true. If you write an amazing script, get together with friends to film it, get the whole thing on tape and then end up with a rough final cut, you wont want to show it to anyone, first, because its rough and not finished, and it wont be something that you are proud of.
When you work on something, you want to make sure that you carry it all of the way through to a done! You may be sitting there thinking that this is something every one knows, and yes everyone should and probably does know this, BUT it is NOT something everyone actually puts to use. Think of any projects you have worked on, and I bet at least one of them isn’t what you want it to be! What use is a project that you can’t display your best work?
Just makes sure that once you get started on something you finish it promptly so that you can have something that you are proud of and can show off!
