I’ve said it before and I will say it again and again and again. As an actor it is crucial that you keep track of your progress in the industry in a way that will show you what does work for you and what does not. Here is a little breakdown of how to keep tabs on how you are actually doing in your acting career…

-Number of Auditions: how many auditions per week? How many per month? Is this number greater or lesser than last week or month, and what changed?

-Number of callbacks: What did you do in the audition room to attain a call back? How can you do that again?

-Number of jobs booked: Time to REALLY figure out what you did in the audition room, or outside of it, because obviously it is something very good.

-Number of classes attended: Which acting classes and where? Did they help you this week/month or detract from your callback and booking statistics?

-Times you updated your agent: This is very important to do because your agent works for you for free if you aren’t booking, keep them in the loop.

-Number of Self-Submissions: Did you submit on backstage? Actors Access?

-Number of jobs booked for Self-submissions: Which headshot and demo reel did you use for that? What did you do in the audition room?

Use these, and I guarantee you will see some change in your career. Not because change will magically happen, but because you will actually be able to SEE your weak point, but more importantly, the strong ones. More to come on this subject very soon!
