I don’t know what exactly has been in the air these past few months but it seems like every actor I know, including myself, has been interested in delving into the world of voiceover acting. I am not sure why this seems to be happening but it appears as though voice over acting is the new thing to get into. I love it, despite not fully understanding it! Through this new interest, I have taken to learning everthing I can about voiceover acting including how to get into it, how to audition for things, and the best way to be a voiceover actor.
Here are some of the best tips that I can offer in this field:

-Through your self submit online account (i.e. backstage, actors access, etc…) look for your own voiceover auditions. This will be the most fun entryway, at least that I have come up with.

-Make yourself a reel. The best way to do this is to either come up with the characters that you feel comfortable portraying (if you are interested in character work) or just be yourself (if you are interested in narration) then read a monologue. Put this on your website so that people can access it easily.

-Find the companies that you want to work for and read for online and find out where you can email them to get your demo reel to them. This works best for smaller independent companies that are more open to accept email applications.

If you do these steps, I guarantee you will find yourself on the footsteps of at least one path to get you to the entryway of working as a voiceover actor. Let me know what you find works and does not work!
