When emerging into the industry, it is not an unwise decision to find an actor whose career you admire and would like to be similar to, then, model your career after theirs. When you do this, you create an image for yourself that people are already familiar with and can identify with.

A, most likely over done, but workable example of this is comparing yourself to Jennifer Aniston. Calling yourself the “New Jennifer Anniston” will give people a reference point. They will know that you can be funny, but are also usually playing the serious friend in the funny show or film. They know that you will play likeable, yet stern characters.

Giving people someone to compare yourself to as an artist is liable to get you more recognition faster because people will be able to remember who you are comparing yourself to, and perhaps, in later situations when they find themselves watching a Jennifer Aniston film, thinking of you in her place.

Find an actor that you admire, and can be similar to, and compare yourself to them. See if this is something that works for you.
