As an actor one of the most important things you can do to really take charge of your career is to promote yourself and make sure that everyone in the industry who is important to the advancement of your career knows you and knows how awesome you are. When you have that going for you, there is not that much that can get in your way when it coms to meeting new people. Because chances are, if you promote yourself well enough, they have already heard something about you, and it usually will be good!
This doesn’t mean that you should be one of those people who drives around Hollywood in a car that reads “JOHN DOE ACTOR FOR HIRE” all day, because we have all seen those few actors who have done that, and we all know that they are famous for doing that and unfortunately are not known for the roles that they have played. But it does mean that you should have an instagram that is popular enough to have a good amount of followers, a fan page on Facebook, and a website of your own with a great bio and a link to all of these other social media sites that you have. You need to have these things in place if you want to create a vision for yourself as well as a way to show the public who you really are. People at agencies have also started looking at twitter, instagram, and Facebook to see for followers on their potential clients. People WANT to see their friend succeed and the people they have been with since the beginning do well! So do yourself a favor and start getting famous on social media so that you can start getting famous in the acting world for real!
