Going to a movie premiere can be a very fun thing. It can also be very important for your career, as you can usually meet some people that are good to network with and talk to about your career. I say that if you get invited to a premiere (or a wrap party or anything like that) it’s best if you are in attendance, looking and feeling your best. This is especially important when you are in the earlier stages of your career, perhaps not the one who the premiere is being shown for, or wrap party being thrown for, and until that point where you are THAT person, networking is of course your best friend.

Many of these smaller scale premieres will have directors that are not impossible to get a few minutes in front of as well as different actors (in attendance or in the film you are viewing), producers, executive producers, etc… that will be great for you to meet, speak to, and make a great impression on. That is, after all, everything the acting career is about, isn’t it, making impressions? When you walk into a casting directors office, that is all you are trying to do; you want them to remember you and think about you as this character. Imagine, now, if the producer of this film had met you already and said your name to the casting director before you auditioned, or if you did such a great job networking that you didn’t even have to audition!

THIS is why going to events, premieres, anything that you can get your hands on where you know there will be industry professionals in attendance, is so very important. It could make a huge change in your career in a way that you did not even think possible. So always be on your game, and always be on the lookout for potential networking opportunities. You never know what may come your way!
